It has been a messy week for the Chrisley family, as more scandal comes to light. Todd Christley’s daughter, Lindsie Chrisley, who appeared on Growing Up Chrisley, has accused her father and her brother, Chase Chrisley, of harassing and blackmailing her with an alleged sex tape of hers.
The Chrisley parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were both indicted earlier this week by a grand jury on tax evasion charges. The reality TV couple were indicted on 12 counts, with the charges including wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Although the pair face upwards of 30 years of prison time, the couple has posted bond and maintain their innocence. The Chrisley family released a statement via social media to tell fans their side of the story - they alleged that these charges are based on false documents as revenge from an unnamed former employee who they allegedly took to court. According to Todd, this legal battle has been happening for over seven years.
According to People, Todd’s daughter Lindsie went to the police last month and alleged that her father and her brother, Chase, threatened to release a sex tape of her in an attempt to extort her into lying. Lindsie - who has been estranged from the whole Chrisley family - believes her brother purchased the alleged sex tape. In the police report, she claimed that her father and her brother threatened that if she refused to lie about a certain incident that “they were going to release the sex tape involving her.” She went on in the police report to claim that this isn’t the first time one of her family members has threatened or harassed her, calling it an “ongoing issue.” The “revenge-porn” type of extortion that Lindsie claimed took place wasn’t the only thing issue. She also claimed that her father publicly confirmed her two lovers and claimed that she cheated on her husband, Will Campbell, with them. Lindsie’s attorney said in a statement:
After Lindsie’s attorney came forward with her statement, her brother Chase denied Lindsie’s allegations against him. He said, “I love my sister and I don’t understand why she’s doing this to our family. Not only am I heartbroken over these false allegations by my sister - and they are totally false - but so are my parents and the rest of our family.” Todd also denied her extortion claims and went on to allege that she had had extramarital affairs with two former Bachelorette contestants. Todd said, “Sadly, for reasons we can only guess at, she ran to the sheriff’s office to accuse her brother of buying a sex tape of her and Robby, which was a complete lie, and now she’s telling more lies about me.” He then went on to say that although his heart is broken, Lindsie is still his daughter and he will always love her, regardless of the claims.
“Lindsie would like nothing more than to be left alone and go about her own business Unfortunately, certain members of her family will not let her live in peace. We are flabbergasted at the audacity of Todd and Chase Chrisley, who are more focused on attacking my client rather than defending themselves against the allegations of criminal conduct… Lindsie prays for a just outcome so that she can go forward with her life safe from those who are looking to do her harm.”
Lindsie’s alleged “revenge-porn” extortion case against her father and her brother has just added more drama to the already messy tax evasion case that her estranged father and step-mother are already facing. It seems that whatever the truth may be, there are still plenty of questions about the alleged sex tape extortion. Time - and some future legal proceedings - will tell if Lindsie’s allegations are true about her father and her brother attempting to extort her into lying for the sake of covering the Growing Up Chrisley’s stars tracks.
