LG today announced that it has started the rollout of its new metal-clad mid-range smartphone, the LG Zero, in Taiwan and other key markets in Asia from this week. The rollout will then continue to Europe and Latin America. LG had first launched the LG Zero in South Korea, its home market, in September this year. Unlike other mid-range smartphones from LG, the Zero features a aluminium body that gives it a premium look and feel. The “Arc Glass” design complements the metal chassis and helps in improving the ergonomics of the handset.
As for the specs, the LG Zero features a 5-inch 720p display in the front, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset under the hood, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It also sports a microSD card slot, a 2,050mAh battery, an 8MP front shooter, and a 13MP rear shooter. The 7.4mm thin handset also features LTE connectivity along with Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB 2.0. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with LG’s latest UX. It also shares some of the camera features that are found on the G4. The press release from LG says that the price and availability of the handset will be announced locally.
