Last month, LG gave a timeframe of 3 months to release the Android Pie update for some of its phones. Their update schedule mentioned that the V40 ThinQ will be getting the update within Q2 2019, that is before June this year. Well, mobile users can expect relief as their official website mentions the update is currently in the testing phase.

LG V40 ThinQ was released back in October last year, and users have been waiting for the Pie update for a long time now. If LG succeeds to deliver the update within their promised timeframe, then you can expect an update in your phone soon, well, if you have one. According to the software support page, the Pie update is currently in the testing phase. Testing is probably the last stage of this update and it will be out for all users soon in coming weeks. Interestingly, the V40 ThinQ is also expected to get the Android Q update, but seeing the current situation we don’t expect it to happen anytime this year. The LG G8, on the other hand, is amongst the first few phones getting the early Android Q beta update.

The LG V40 is powered by Snapdragon 845 mobile platform along with Adreno 630 GPU. It has a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display. It gets its juice from a 3,300 mAh battery with fast charge support. The phone has 3 rear cameras with 12 MP primary camera, 16 MP wide-angle lens, and a 12 MP telephoto lens for 2X Optical Zoom. Stay tuned for any further updates!
