LG has a habit of teasing and semi-officially announcing new products before MWC this year. The company has already confirmed that it will be launching the LG G5 at the show this year and has even gone ahead and unveiled its official Quick Cover case for it. Additionally, it also announced two new smartphones under its new X-lineup of smartphones: the X cam and X screen. LG has upgraded its software to take advantage of the stylus, which includes features like Pen Pop that automatically brings up a shortcut menu when the stylus is ejected from the device; and Pen Keeper that notifies you if the stylus is missing from your phone while in motion. “LG Stylus 2 provides both the big screen and premium notetaking functions of a premium large phone at a price of a mid-tier phone,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “This device is another example of our commitment to the mass-tier segment where there is so much opportunity for growth and creativity.” The 7.4mm thin Stylus 2 is only 145g heavy and comes with a ‘Protruded Flat Display’ in the front, metallic frame on its edges and a hairline pattern at the back.. The 5.7-inch display has a lowly resolution of 1280 x 720 and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core chip. The handset also packs in 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 13MP rear shooter, an 8MP front shooter, and a removable 3,000mAh battery. The Stylus 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. LG will be providing more details about the Stylus 2 and its availability at MWC next week.
