LG today unveiled its Q6 series of smartphones featuring FullVision 18:9 aspect ratio display. These budget to mid-tier handsets feature FullHD+ display with a bezel-less design at the front similar to that of the LG G6.
The LG Q6 lineup currently consists of three smartphones: the LG G6, Q6+, and the Q6a. All the three phones sport the same internals and the same 5.5-inch 18:9 FHD+ FullVision display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. The handsets feature a metallic Series 7000 aluminium chassis, with its front and back made of plastic. They have all been subjected to LG’s rigorous testing protocols to ensure optimum durability.
Inside, the handsets are powered by Qualcomm’s budget Snapdragon 435 chipset, and they all sport a 13MP shooter at the rear with a 5MP wide-angle selfie shooter at the front. Other features common on all three Q6 handsets include face recognition, FM radio, LTE connectivity, 3000mAh battery, USB-C connectivity, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.2. Surprisingly, all three handsets lack a fingerprint scanner. On the software front, all three Q6 series phones are running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with LG’s UX 6.0 running on top of it. Where the three phones differ from each other is in terms of internal storage and RAM. While the Q6+ comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, the Q6 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Finally, there’s the Q6a packing 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The handsets will go on sale in Asia from next month, with a rollout in Europe, Latin America, and North America set to follow.
