If you frequent any LG G4 specific forum on the Internet, you must be aware of quite a handful of owners of the handset complaining about the handset suddenly entering into a bootloop, which cannot be fixed no matter what. Now, more than seven months after its launch, LG has finally accepted that the bootloop issue on the G4 is hardware related or more specifically, related to loose contacts between components. The company also promises to fix such any affected unit, however, for non-carrier units, LG says that the warranty conditions will differ, which does not really sound optimistic. The full statement from LG that was sent to Android Authority is below: While it is nice for LG to publicly acknowledge the issue and fix it, there still remains one major problem: what happens when a G4 unit that is affected by this issue enters into a bootloop once its out of warranty? It is likely that LG will ask owners of such handset to shell out money to fix the problem, which seems downright unfair in my opinion since the problem occurred due to an issue from LG’s end. Customers who purchased their G4 devices from non-carrier retailers should contact an LG Service Center with the understanding that warranty conditions will differ. LG Electronics is committed to providing the highest standards of product quality and customer service and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to some of our customers who initially received incorrect diagnoses.
