The LG G3 under Verizon’s umbrella has recently been hit with a software upgrade, but instead of bringing with it the newest version of Android, this one’s wholly Verizon’s doing. The newest upgrade, which is rolling out to G3 owners right now, is meant to bring with it plenty of Verizon-themed additions and tweaks to the flagship handset. The biggest aspect of the new software is the inclusion of Advanced Calling 1.0 support, which will allow owners to make high-quality voice calls with the G3, thanks to HD Voice. Additionally, with Advanced Calling, owners can make 1- or 2-way video calls, use simultaneous voice and data, and 6-way conference calls for good measure. The update also includes updates for specific apps, including the My Verizon app, the Softcard Wallet app, as well as the GMS R5 app. LG’s proprietary apps on the handset are also getting new version numbers, too. It should be noted that if a G3 owners wishes to take advantage of the Advanced Calling 1.0 features, they’ll need to call another handset that features the same upgrade.
