In a gathering with Deadline about his new unique Heat 2, boss Michael Mann reveals he once had plans to change James Dean’s life into a biopic. He even had his driving man as a main concern – an energetic DiCaprio.

“That was so odd about James Dean. It was an awe inspiring screenplay. Also, a while later it’s who on earth could play James Dean?” inspected Mann. “Likewise, I found a chap who could play James Dean, but he was exorbitantly energetic.”
They even got as far in the process as a screen test with DiCaprio with mixed results.
“We did a screen test that is extremely shocking. I think he must’ve been 19 by then. Likewise, from one point, he totally had it with him. “I did a screen test with him, I expect I was 18. It turned out wonderful well.
