Lenovo has never really taken a shot at the upper-end of the smartphone market, and has kept itself content with some low to mid-end products. The company is changing that today with the announcement of the Vibe Z. Apart from being the first high-end smartphone from Lenovo, the Vibe Z will also sport an LTE radio, which is another first for the company. The Vibe Z sports a 5.5-inch 1080p LCD, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage inside an impressively thin 7.9mm body. There is also a 13MP snapper with a F/1.8 lens aided by an LED flash. On the software side, the Vibe Z runs on Android 4.3 with a skin that looks similar to MIUI.
Other specs include an NFC chip, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, GPS, LTE with up to 150Mbits download speed and a 3000mAh sealed battery. The handset will be available in February for $549 in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. At this point, Lenovo has no plans of bringing the Vibe Z to USA though.
