Co-op multiplayer in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is as seamless as can be. It makes use of true drop-in/drop-out local co-op multiplayer mechanics.

At any point during LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, another player can turn on another controller and join in co-op multiplayer by pressing any button on a second controller. The second screen instantly splits down the middle. To leave multiplayer co-op, simply turn off the second controller, returning the full screen to Player 1.

You can jump in and out of co-op multiplayer whether you’re in the middle of a linear story mission or exploring one of the several open-world hubs. The gameplay experience only differs when piloting a ship. During these sequences, you’re treated to a full screen with Player 1 piloting the ship and Player 2 aiming and firing.
