The biggest surprise, however, comes after the trailer, when the Blue Blur himself shows up to steal a ring right out of Gollum’s hands. While the series had crossed over with Lord of the Rings before, it’s safe to say that Sonic’s inclusion is something no one expected.
At this point, it seems like no franchise is safe from Lego Dimensions, and that’s not a bad thing. At this point, the series is accurately replicating the feel of a toy box filled with Lego sets and characters. After all, whose to say that Harry Potter can’t ride the Batmobile, or Gandalf can’t fist-fight Voldemort? Not Lego, that’s for sure.
