Legends of Tomorrow has become one of the most fun shows in all the Arrowverse. With the crazily powered super heroes, bizarre stories about magic and time travel, as well as the strange combination of team mates, what’s not to love about the show?

However, as much as the show makes us laugh, it also makes us cry and display a whole other host of emotions. We’ve picked out 10 scenes from across the show that we think pull on the heart strings of viewers, every time they watch it.

STEIN’S DEATH

Martin Stein made up one half of Firestorm. But he struggled to keep up with the rest of the team as he got older and wanted to have a life living with his daughter and new grandchild. He was looking for every opportunity to jump off the Waverider therefore.

However, he wanted Jax to be able to still use the Firestorm Matrix. In a major crossover event though, Martin gave his life to protect his partner. It was such a sad moment and perhaps one of the worst in all of the Arrowverse.

NATE AND ZARI DATE

Nate and Zari clearly had strong emotions for one another but never wanted to admit it. They had been tip toeing around each other for quite some time before either of them even acknowledged the feelings they had, or the potential for them to date.

They finally got together in the show and fans rejoiced. This seemed like a couple that made sense together, but they hit a few barriers along the way. We want to know how this relationship plays out further because we definitely haven’t seen enough.

RIP HUNTER’S DEATH

Rip Hunter is the man that actually created this team. He was flawed but respected and certainly did what he could to protect the timeline. However, his actions sometimes made matters worse and he hindered the team many times.

Ultimately though he gave his life to try and protect time as his life’s mission was always to do so. It was more heartwarming to know that he truly believed he would be seeing his family once again, who he never actually managed to save.

NATE’S DEATH

Nate was one of the best members of the team. A relative newcomer, he quickly found his place as a super hero and a historian, before deciding to join the time bureau to make a difference in a different way. His relationship with his dad was a key focus of the series.

However, when he returned to the team tragedy struck as he seemingly died. However, it was not his time and the audience of a circus sung to him to bring him back to life. It’s a moving and emotional moment which genuinely warmed the heart.

KENDRA’S DEPARTURE

Kendra was part of the original team and is actually a huge DC character that the Arrowverse was lucky to have, alongside Hawkman. However, the characters just weren’t quite working in the context of the show and were removed.

Despite this, their absence has actually been felt in many unexpected ways and the scene where they leave is clearly a difficult one for the characters in the show to handle. They will always be some of the original heroes of this universe!

AVA AND SARA GET TOGETHER

Ava and Sara have been on and off again throughout the series. The clone and the White Canary seem pretty perfect for one another but have yet to fully realize that; until they have to save each other and learn to love one another once again.

They struggled to decide what kind of life they would want together; whether it was going to be boring or exciting, full of a family or just the two of them. However, they finally talked it out and are now more stronger because of it.

ZARI’S DISAPPEARANCE

The end of the final season saw the history of events completely change, but that had one huge impact on the team. Zari was erased from history, having never joined the team in the past. Her brother replaces her instead, to the confusion of the team.

However, no one really realizes what’s happened, except the viewers, which makes this even more difficult to watch. One minute they were heartbroken at the loss and then the next moment they are carrying on as if nothing unusual has happened.

ASTRA’S RETURN

John Constantine had a significant struggle throughout his own show. He lost the young girl Astra to hell and has regretted it ever since. He feels like he has failed her but never managed to find a way back to save her.

That is until he found the Legends, where he had to embark on a trip to hell to save Ray. Along the way he met Astra again, who actually enjoyed being among the demons. This broke John’s heart and demonstrated he had truly failed that young girl.

CAPTAIN COLD DEATH

Another death that shook the team was that of Captain Cold’s. Snart started his journey in the Arrowverse as a major villain to the Flash. However, once he joined the Legends he showed that there was much more to him than the crimes he commits.

His final acts were to save the universe and time itself from collapsing and he gave his life to do so. His relationship with Sara was also at a point where it made this death even more heartbreaking, especially for those that were left behind.

AMAYA LEAVES

Amaya and Nate were originally the power couple but she left him without giving any reasons why. This broke Nate’s heart but she felt like she had a duty to her people. She then returned to the team once again and saved time once more.

However, after this she realized she really could not stay away from her home and had to leave once more. After giving everyone the hope that she would stay, by leaving once more this made it even harder for them to carry on without her.
