Over the years, there have been numerous rumors that point to Samsung’s next big thing featuring an iris scanner. However, the rumor has always turned out to be baseless. This time around though, it looks like Samsung might finally be getting around to include an iris scanner on the Galaxy Note 7.

An image of the front panel of the Galaxy Note 7 posted by @onleaks shows off what are likely multiple holes for the iris scanner at the top of the device. It also confirms that the Galaxy Note 7 will come with slightly curved screen on both its edges. The curved display will be slightly bigger — 5.8-inch — than the display found on previous Galaxy Note devices.

The front panel also lacks any Samsung logo at the front, which Samsung might have had to sacrifice to fit in the iris scanner and reduce the bezel space further. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 in early August, so with a month still left to go, I’d expect some pictures of the handset making their way to the internet as well. Rumors point to the Galaxy Note 7 coming with an IP68 certification, up to 6GB RAM, 64GB storage space with a microSD card slot, a Snapdragon 821/Exynos 8890 chipset, and a 3600mAh battery.
